Call for papers: Innovations in Developing a Behavioral Health Workforce for Team Based Care

The journal Families, Systems, & Health (FSH) seeks submissions for a Special Issue on Innovations in Developing a Behavioral Health Workforce for Team Based Care. The issue will be curated by FSH Co-Editor, Jodi Polaha, and Guest Editors Jack Westfall and Candice Chen.

New models of delivering behavioral health care in teams can address long standing workforce shortages and limitations in training paradigms.

To this point, behavioral health guilds have been slow to retool their training and curriculum to provide students with the critical skills needed for effective team based practice. Likewise, training to empower and expand the capacity of the existing workforce is limited. In addition, many sectors of healthcare, including the mental health professions, lack diversity, compounding barriers to care.
