Through an intensive multistakeholder consensus-building process, our community developed the Shared Principles of Primary Care that identify seven core attributes of primary care at its best. The Shared Principles are designed to move the United States toward a vibrant future of person- centered, team-based, community-aligned primary care that will help achieve the goals of better health, better care, and lower costs. Achieving this future requires a common vision as well as appropriate payment, investment, training, workforce and other resources to support it.
The Better Health – NOW (BHN) campaign is a broad-based effort led by diverse PCC members to enact federal policy changes that will improve Americans’ health by expanding access to primary care. Better Health – NOW is committed to advancing policies that will improve the health of all Americans by strengthening primary care – changes that will ensure all Americans have access to the high-quality care they deserve.
The Promise of Primary Care: Isn’t it Time to Deliver? is a communications effort from the PCC and its partners to show policymakers why urgent investment in primary care is needed.
By educating policymakers and health policy influencers on what primary care can be across all communities with greater investment — including its value in addressing serious health issues — PCC and its partners can lay the groundwork for decision-makers to transform our system to deliver enhanced and more affordable outcomes.
