PCC Joins the Alliance for Value-Based Care and 21 Other Orgs in Supporting Extended APM Incentives…

March 16 Letter preview

On March 16, the PCC joined a letter from the Alliance for Value Based Care, with 21 organizations, thanking Congress for extending Medicare’s Alternative Payment Model (APM) incentives and encouraging further improvements to Medicare’s payment system.

The letter highlights the importance of APM’s in strengthening Medicare and proposes three ways to adjust the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) that would support further implementation of APMs and clinicians in these models. These recommendations include realigning incentives, stabilizing reimbursement and leveraging the CMS Innovation Center to test and adopt permanent models.

PCC and other letter signatories agree: To move our health system towards better health, Congress must continue to support APMs and delivery models that improve quality and lower costs.
