The PCC Joins AMGA Letter Endorsing the Chronic Care Management Improvement Act

April 2026 letter preview

On April 14, PCC joined with 40 organizations on an American Medical Group Association (AMGA)-led sign-on letter endorsing the Chronic Care Management Improvement Act of 2026. This bipartisan legislation aims to strengthen care management for the more than 22 million Medicare patients living with two or more chronic diseases.

Under current policy, Medicare beneficiaries are required to pay a 20% coinsurance to receive care management services. The legislation would eliminate patient cost-sharing obligation for Chronic Care Management (CCM) services, removing a barrier to care.

AMGA and the undersigned organizations emphasized that waiving this coinsurance would expand access to essential care coordination, enabling more effective management of chronic conditions and improve patient outcomes.
