The mission of the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation is to support research and education on the value home health care can offer to patients and the U.S. health care system. Working with leading researchers, key experts and thought leaders, and the entire home health care community, we strive to foster solutions that will contribute to the national dialogue on improving health care in America.
Founded in 2008, leaders in the home health care community joined forces with a common recognition and a shared goal. Their recognition: that home health care should serve as a critical component of the health care system of the future. Their shared goal: to demonstrate the value of home health in providing clinical outcomes that increase patient independence and minimize more costly types of treatment.
The more than 500,000 employees who care for the millions of patients served by home health care know that patients prefer the comfort and dignity of home-based care. Keeping patients at home and out of the hospital or emergency room can be a huge cost saving to the health care system. Innovation has the potential to contribute lasting, positive change to our national health system. Now, home health care has stepped forward to offer solutions and contribute to the national dialogue about improving health care.
