Voices: Utah faces a physician shortage. I see why fewer medical students are choosing primary care.

Utah has one of the most severe primary care physician shortages in the country. As a medical student, I am warned endlessly of the impending collapse of our primary care system — so much so that this threat has taken on the quality of our other looming existential crisis: the vanishing of our Great Salt Lake.
