Michael Paustian has worked with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for the past five years in the development and evaluation of clinical programs aimed at practice transformation and improving health care value, including the Patient Centered Medical Home program and recently similar programs developed for specialist physicians. Prior to Blue Cross, Michael worked as a maternal & child health epidemiologist for five years at the Michigan Department of Community Health focused on pediatric health services, particularly for children with special health needs. Michael received his MS in epidemiology from the University of Iowa and his doctorate in epidemiological science from the University of Michigan.
