On July 14, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) unveiled its 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule.
If finalized, the rule would set Medicare on a path to modernize the fee schedule and begin to address longstanding underinvestment and undervaluation of primary care — steps with far-reaching implications across payers.
